My journey as an artist is intimately tied with the North Cascades. In 2010 I participated in a 12 day women's science, mountaineering, art, and leadership program with Inspiring Girls Expeditions. This was my first experience with field painting (plein air painting but in a wilderness setting) and is at the heart of my art practice today.
I return each year to the North Cascades to explore, create, and observe the changes in the landscape through art. In the last eight years, I have witnessed a noticeable recession of the Easton Glacier (painted and pictured below).
